Home Buying with a     "Personal Touch"

NeighborWorks TOLEDO REGION a full service Home Buyer Education Program in the Toledo Area. We call it our "Personal Touch" because of our insistence at maintain ongoing communication with every consumer household that contacts us for assistance. 

We focus our education program on achieving home ownership as it relates to consumer credit.  Topics related to credit include: How to Establish Credit and Good Credit is a Lifestyle.  Trainees who complete our 8-hour course series are provided a certificate.

 

Our classes are conducted in our own facility by NeighborWorks America certified trainers, supported by guest lecturers.  For consumers who are comfortable with E-learning, we offer online training with ehome America.

 

"Personal Touch" represents an added value for Toledians because of our commitment.  Those trainees that purchase a home after attending and completing our Home Buyer Education Program are rewarded with a $50.00 gift certificate to a local home improvement store (i.e. LOWES, Home Depot and/or Menards).  This program is an important component of the home purchasing process because trainees have a higher success rate as borrowers of mortgage products.

 

 

 

 

First-Time homebuyers will start by attending an Orientation. There you will meet our counselor(s) and make an appointment to meet one on one with your certified HUD Housing Counselor.

 

Orientations are held the first Tuesday of every month at 11:00 a.m. OR 6:00 p.m.  at our office located at 704 Second Street (East Toledo.)

 

You only need attend one session; however, space is limited, so reserve your seat now.

"Know Your Numbers" before you buy

Now that your registered, come to the orientation prepared. Fill out your Intake Form. Start gathering the following documents for your one-on-one assessment appointment:

 

  • Verification of monthly income for any individual desiring to purchase a home (i.e. three months of consecutive paystubs, award letter, etc. 

  • Last twelve months of income (W2(s), 1099(s) or 1040 or 1040A

  • Monthly expenses

  • Tri-merge credit report (Experian, Equifax & Trans Union OR purchase your own from us for a fee.
