NeighborWorks® TOLEDO REGION formelly known as Neighborhood Housing Services of Toledo, Inc. facilitates the State of Ohio's Home Weatherization Assistance Program, Columbia Gas of Ohio's Warm Choice Program and First Energy/Toledo Edison's Community Connection Program in Lucas county for more than 30 years.  Our agency has provided energy efficiency measures to more than 28,000 homes equaling an investment in excess of 54 million dollars in our community.

Each year, the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) honors a select group of organizations that have made outstanding contributions to protecting the environment through superior energy efficiency. Whether a first time Partner of the Year winner, or a Sustained Excellence winner, these small and large organizations from across the country are leading the energy efficiency movement.

NeighborWorks® TOLEDO REGION received recognition for it's support of the ENERGY STAR Certified Homes program, which key accomplishments includes:

  • Building 40 single-family ENERGY STAR certified homes and engaging sub-contractors at the planning stage by conducting design criteria and outcome expectation meetings, along with proactive and product training sessions.

  • Promoting ENERGY STAR certified homes to local government officials, community and business leaders, and local utility companies by conducting home tours, holding press conferences, speaking at neighborhood meetings, and performing neighborhood surveys.
