Toledo Police Next Door
This privately funded program offers Toledo Police officers a down payment incentive of $25,000 to increase homeownership within the City of Toledo.
Eligibility and Getting Started
To apply for the Toledo Police Next Door program, applicants must meet the following criteria:
1. Must be a full-time sworn Toledo Police officer for at least one year.
2. The home being purchased must be the applicant's future principal residence.
Preference is given to first-time homeowners. Participants can choose to purchase a home anywhere within the Toledo City limits. This program is not designed to
grant downpayments to officers that already own a home in the City of Toledo.
Applicants do not need to have a home picked out to apply. The down payment assistance is granted as a second mortgage that requires no payments. After five years, the loan is forgiven.
